The issue

The purpose of this petition is to bring to your attention a group of Malaysians called SIHULK who have entered New Zealand. This group has deviated from Islam but continue to pose as Muslims.

The SIHULK cult leader Suhaini Muhammad is wanted by the Malaysian authorities for false teachings that contradict Islam. His claims are inflammatory and designed to incite reactions from Muslims. For example, he claimed that Prophet Muhammad is God, which contradicts the basic article of faith in Islam. Suhani had also disturbingly claimed that the prophet had no genitalia and never had children.

In 2021, he had made a police report in Malaysia retracting such claims and commanded that his followers return to the original teachings of Islam. But in his recent social media posts, he denied that there is a God according to Islam and condemned all mainstream Muslims as Munafik (fake followers of Islam).

Suhaini’s recent posts boasts that he had brought 150 followers into New Zealand through assorted visas – student, tourism, work and travel. Members of the community report that Suhaini plans to seek political asylum, citing religious persecution if he returned to Malaysia. Suhaini has applied to form a charitable trust in New Zealand.

This group is dangerous as they use words that are linked to extreme ideologies. In his application for NZ charter of the trust deed, Suhaini had used the terminology “supremacy”, “new world” and “ultimate leader”. While his charter also claimed understanding diversity, peace and compassion, his cult profile page described the phases of progression in his native language (Malay) which included “covert” work and “destruction of enemies”.

The SIHULK group is also known to sell a drink claiming miracle cures but their halal certification was revoked for failing to comply with the standards set by the Johor Islamic religious department (JAINJ). In a shared video, the cult leader had explained the steps to using the SIHULK drink which involved sorcery practices such as the use of blood and a call to unseen beings. Suhaini has applied to incorporate the SIHULK Trust and may be planning to sell his drink here.

A strong SIHULK supporter, Juliana Yasmine JKelk, claimed that she used her kiwi husband’s relative in Interpol which suggests that this radical group is operating under the radar of surveillance.

We feel that this group is dangerous and are taking advantage of the New Zealand system to gain asylum status. They understand that New Zealand is a country with a high regard for Human Rights and expect to gain residency if they claim to need protection from persecution.

Malaysia does not discriminate any religion. Suhaini is wanted for evidence of radicalism that could provoke and incite violence.

We advise that any request from anyone stating religious persecution in Malaysia should not be considered a genuine case for asylum in New Zealand.

As we do not know who the Sihulk followers are, we rely on a Facebook page called Bahtera SIHULK  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1877548359272887 for photos of the followers. We are also concerned that the followers are employed as Halal slaughtermen whose Aqeedah (understanding of faith) is questionable.  Produce will no longer be halal for New Zealand Muslims. Unfortunately it will also affect the New Zealand meat export industry.

If these people are accepted as asylum seekers in Aotearoa New Zealand, we are concerned that this would lead to a lot of friction, disputes, multicultural restlessness, and conflicts among the wider Muslim community.

Since the posts made by SIHULK on Facebook are increasingly offensive to Muslims, we see this as part of their strategy to provoke Muslims in order to prove that their lives are at risk.

We must expose these fake asylum seekers and call on NZ Immigration and the New Zealand government to stop the activities of this group as they pose a real threat to New Zealand’s internal security.
