Both Mead Elementary and Mead Middle are within walking distance to a small gas station, Josie’s Tacos, a park, and Ziggis Coffee, which are apart of our limited places to hangout in our small town of Mead. After school, it’s very normal to see groups of kids making their way down the road to these attractions. Not forgetting to add, many kids live within walking and biking distance to the schools, and many get to school in those ways. It is crucial for the safety of us kids that new and ex-pedophiles are not allowed within a 1-mile radius of these schools. By implementing this restriction, we can create a safer environment for our us as we walk to school and enjoy their community spaces.
