The Issue

On April 9th, 2025, Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Moeser was driving at excessive speeds of 126 miles per hour while responding to reports of a wrong-way driver. At the time, an initial collision had already occurred between the wrong-way driver and another vehicle. This high-speed response resulted in a catastrophic SECOND collision that paralyzed now 18-year-old Blayke Mostad from the neck down with a brain injury, and left 15-year-old Braxton Mostad with a severe eye injury and torn ACL. The damages caused by Trooper Ryan Moeser hitting the vehicles involved in the initial collision at such a high rate of speed are irreparable. The Minnesota State Patrol was well aware of the dangers this situation could cause and Trooper Ryan Moeser should have been responding with the highest due regard for public safety.

Despite the severity of this incident, the investigation—initially conducted by Sherburne County and later transferred to Dakota County due to a conflict of interest—concluded without any findings of wrongdoing on the part of Trooper Moeser. We strongly believe that this outcome reflects a disturbing tendency for the state to shield its own officers and ignore misconduct.

Our family is living a nightmare, and left to pick up the pieces of Trooper Ryan Moeser’s careless decisions. The fact that Trooper Moeser is back to work without being held accountable disturbs us deeply and raises concerns about the standards and practices of the agencies tasked with ensuring public safety in Minnesota.

This petition aims to demand justice and accountability from our law enforcement agencies. It's unacceptable for an officer to act with such recklessness without facing consequences. The investigation must be revisited, and Trooper Ryan Moeser should be terminated from his position as a Minnesota State Patrol Officer.

We are calling upon Minnesota State Patrol Commander Colonel Christina Bogojevic, Governor Tim Walz, and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to re-evaluate the findings of this investigation and take appropriate disciplinary action against Trooper Ryan Moeser. It's crucial to uphold the values of accountability and justice.

Please join us in seeking justice for my brothers and ensuring that law enforcement officers are held to the highest standards. Sign this petition to request necessary actions that reflect fairness and accountability in our state law enforcement system.
