After weeks of warnings from Western leaders, Russia unleashed an unprovoked assault of Ukraine on Thursday, in an attack that threatened to upend Europe's post-Cold War order. 

UK supermarkets sells enormous amounts of vodka, much of which originates from and provides revenue to Russia. In the general scheme of things that seems miniscule, but to Russian vodka exporters the UK market is of critical importance.

A report by the Federal and Regional Alcohol Markets (TSIFFRA) found the UK was the third biggest importer of Russian vodka, importing on average 3.5 million litres a year. This means potentially hundreds of thousnads of litres are still sat on supermarket shelfs. 

We should begin removing Russian vodka and other Russian-made products from UK shelves immediately in protest of Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
