The Issue

On behalf of our community, we are calling for the immediate removal of Phillip Boss from his position as Chief of Police in Cambria, Illinois. This petition comes from a deep-seated concern for the integrity and trust that must be upheld by those in positions of authority, especially within our law enforcement.

Recently, an appalling incident came to light involving Chief Boss. He allegedly admitted to sharing a nude photo of a woman who later tragically took her own life. This photo was distributed among other members of the government and employees of the village of Cambria. Such behavior is not only unprofessional but deeply unethical and disrespectful to her memory and her grieving family. It is an utter violation of privacy and a gross misuse of his position.

The role of a Chief of Police comes with an expectation of accountability, moral judgement, and the protection of the community's trust. Chief Boss's actions have shown a significant lapse in judgment and raise serious doubts about his capability to lead and maintain the ethical standards expected of him. The community deserves a leader whose character is beyond question, someone who embodies the values of respect, dignity, and responsibility.

This incident has sparked outrage among residents, shaking the confidence we place in our local law enforcement. We fear that such actions undermine the integrity of the police department and tarnish the relationship between citizens and those sworn to protect them. We must hold our leaders accountable to ensure that our community is safe and respected.

We urge the village council and relevant authorities to take immediate action by removing Phillip Boss from his current position. It is essential for the rebuilding of trust and the upholding of justice within Cambria.

Please sign this petition to demand accountability and bring back the respect that our community deserves. At the very least, there needs to be a full, public investigation.
