Remove Green P Paid Parking on Kingston Rd.

Remove Green P Paid Parking on Kingston Rd.
The Issue

Green P paid parking will be detrimental to our businesses on Kingston Road and will slow the revitalization of Cliffside Village. The addition of paid parking is an unnecessary and unwarranted change for several reasons.
Firstly, parking along Kingston Road is not congested and does not require a paid solution to free up parking spots. Over the last year, any increase in the utilization of Kingston Road street parking were automobiles of the construction staff of the commercial fit out for 2229 Kingston Rd, and the construction staff working at 2201 Kingston Rd, Merge Condos. Most of the personnel are now completing the project, alleviating any temporary congestion. Secondly, paid parking is going to disincentivize patrons from signing up for the coworking space and community hub at 2229 Kingston Rd, which is struggling with membership in this changing community. Bringing more people into this vibrant and youthful community hub would be a net benefit to the community. Lastly, free parking along Kingston Road will create a more walkable and activated street corridor that will further enhance the pedestrian and retail experience.
Together, we have a chance of getting paid parking removed from Kingston Road. By signing this petition, you may help to further build and sustain a more vibrant economic and social environment in our neighborhood which will benefit everyone.
We call on the City Counsellor's office of Scarborough Southwest, Ward 20 to revert the parking on Kingston Road to what it was - parking allowed free of charge, except during the afternoon rush hour from 4-6 PM where parking is not allowed.
