Why do we want Ms Unwin gone?

1. The fact that Ms. Unwin only lets the new teachers (from Swan View) see which classes they would be teaching the following year makes the previous teachers' jobs more stressful and uncomfortable.
2. She is arranging for some teachers to be given alternate subjects to teach. For instance, a teacher, who has spent the past 23 years at Dianella teaching virtually exclusively one subject, was given the assignment to only be able to teach languages next year. As a result, causing our original teachers to want to leave the school because they don't want to teach the new topic they have been given.
3. She is working to convert our school into a VET institution. She is hurting the potential of many students in our school by discouraging them from taking ATAR, claiming that they won't perform well even though many of them are more than capable of doing so. Parents will probably be less inclined to want to send their child to our school in the future as a result of the effects of converting it to a VET institution.
4. Before Ms. Unwin came to our school last year, we had year coordinators; she completely altered that system. We could go talk to our year coordinators if we wanted to go on any kind of excursion. She withdrew the year coordinators as a whole and replaced it this year with house coordinators. Less trips are available now, and there are no reward excursions at all. The actual excursions that we take are frequently STEM or TAFE-related. The Kooyar Carnival, a mixed-carnival day that many people in Dianella enjoyed, is likewise no longer available. Additionally, she has effectively stripped the student house representatives of any authority because they are overridden by the house coordinators.

The Dianella Secondary College staff and students do not want this institution to become a completely new one. Even though Ms. Unwin is implementing some excellent improvements, such as constructing a new performing arts centre and considering changing the fabric of our uniforms, she wants our current teachers to resign. We like them, we like our old timetables, and we enjoy having a variety of ways to enter university, whether it be through a course or ATAR; we like the opportunities, and the teachers here would like to know which classes they are teaching. Remove Ms. Unwin from Dianella Secondary College and MAINTAIN DIANELLA JUST AS MR. AUSTIN LEFT IT! How do YOU feel? BE THE CHANGE!
