Today our Legislative Assembly e-petition was formally tabled in WA Parliament.
This was submitted through the Legislative Assembly’s newly introduced e-petitions process. While there were some technical challenges along the way, we got there.
If you watched it, you would have noticed how quick and quiet it was. No discussion, no debate, just read and moved on. That is completely normal.
Tabling a petition is not where the conversation happens, it is where it officially begins. It places the issue into the parliamentary process and means it will receive a formal response from government.
So while it may have felt like a small moment, it is actually an important step forward.
Alongside the 829 verified signatures that were tabled, more than 2,000 additional physical signatures have been collected locally. Together, this reflects a strong and growing level of community concern.
This Change.org petition also continues to play an important role. While it is not part of the formal parliamentary process, it remains valuable evidence of broader community support and will continue to be used to demonstrate the scale of concern moving forward.
Every signature still matters.
What matters now is what comes next.
We will continue to follow this through and seek clear answers around site selection, transparency, and the science behind the decision-making.
Thank you for being part of this and for continuing to share, discuss, and support this process.
Please keep sharing the petition so we can continue to build a clear picture of community sentiment and demonstrate ongoing community support.
