Update: Community catch-up with Jess Beckerling MLC

It has been a while since the last petition update, but this issue has not gone away. Over the past few months, Water Corporation has continued progressing Nanarup as the preferred site for Albany’s proposed seawater desalination plant, and the community continues to seek clearer answers about how that decision was made.

Thank you to everyone who came along to Nanarup to meet with Jess Beckerling MLC, and to everyone who continues to support this campaign.

Many people who wanted to attend were unable to make it because of work, family or other commitments, but those who came helped show that the community is still paying attention and still asking questions.

Our concerns remain focused on the need for a process the community can trust. Water security is important, but major infrastructure decisions must be transparent, evidence-based and genuinely future-focused.

Please keep writing personally to the relevant State Ministers involved in this process, particularly the Water Minister, Hon Daniel Pastorelli MLA, and the Environment Minister, Hon Matthew Swinbourn MLC.Personal letters and emails matter. They show this is not just one voice or one group, but a community paying attention and asking to be heard.
