Remove my name from the justice department

The Issue

I am reaching out to the compassionate and understanding people of Dayton, OH to support me in a deeply personal matter. I am a great person, who after serving time, has reintegrated into society in meaningful ways. I volunteer at voting polls to aid in enhancing our democracy, I continue to participate in activities around the community. I am blessed with a loving family - including a supportive children, wife, and grandkids. Friends and family all around testify to my integrity and the positive impact I make on those around me. My goal is to remove my name from the justice department.

Despite these strides, I am burdened by a requirement that undercuts my ability to fully live freely. I am currently required to register and report to the sheriff's office due to past infractions, but I believe this requirement is no longer reflective of who I am today or the contributions I continue to make in my community.

Removing or reclassifying this obligation could mean a significant change not only for me but for other individuals in similar situations - allowing us to thrive without an overshadowing past. With Ohio having a recidivism rate of 30%, facilitating reclassification or removal for individuals who show sincere reform could promote rehabilitation instead of contributing to this statistic.

This solution would involve reviewing my case and similar cases where the individuals involved have demonstrated substantial rehabilitation and societal contributions. Discussions with local legislators, and officials at the sheriff's office could help initiate a contextual, case-by-case evaluation process.

Join me in advocating for a system that recognizes change and values second chances. Your signature can encourage local authorities to acknowledge reform and reevaluate outdated obligations. Please sign my petition to help me live beyond the shadows of my past and embrace a future full of opportunity. Thank you for standing with me.
