The rise of dating apps geared for minors has surged in the past few years. These apps are advertised as an app where kids can make friends, yet as anyone with a clear head can realize is that they are not used for that! Kids and teenagers (mostly teenagers, as they are the most targeted by these companies) are hormonal beings. The stages of puberty bring on so much feeling and wanting of sexual discovery. This is not a safe way for kids to discover sex. There’s a video on Youtube where a woman goes onto the apps for research. She is clearly not a minor, and yet the app lets her on with not issue. She gets 24 messages from young boys and girls making sexual passes on her. CHILDREN. One boy has the size of his private parts as his bio. I will repeat: A CHILD HAS THE SIZE OF HIS PRIVATE PARTS IN THEIR BIO!!! These apps also come with subscriptions to boost your profile and get more views… Who can pay monthly for a service like this? Adults. Pedophiles. 

For the safety of the kids growing up in this kind of world, these apps need to be deleted and or shifted to make access safer. Although it may be stereotypical to leave off with this… I still have to say it: Think about the children. Think about the trauma they may go through when a grown man or woman harasses them on these apps. Worse things than they could happen… Things i don’t even want to discuss because they are truly so terrifying.
