The Red Lantern has long been a haven to myself, and many within the robust Central Valley's LGBTQ+ Community. It is with utter dismay that we've witnessed the toxic actions of a particular authority figure, Marcus Ramirez. Not only has he demonstrated a dangerous hunger for power, he's consistently shown himself to be unstable, both verbally and physically attacking dedicated employees and our beloved customers. In a shocking twist of events, Marcus Ramirez has stepped over the line, acting against the express wishes of the establishment's owner since 1976, Virgil Wigley. He has overstepped his authority by illegally locking out long-term, hardworking employees.

The actions of Marcus Ramirez paints a bleak picture for the future of The Red Lantern unless immediate changes are made. We now call for the swift removal of Marcus Ramirez from making any business decisions related to the bar. Moreover, we demand the reinstatement of our dedicated bartenders and bar backs who were unjustly stripped off their roles. The Red Lantern deserves better. Our LGBTQ+ community deserves better.
