As someone directly affected and deeply concerned about the health care provided to us, I write with a heavy heart. Health care is an integral aspect of our day-to-day living and should be treated with utmost seriousness and dedication. Unfortunately, we have been at the receiving end of unfair treatment from a member of our medical team, LT Shahzad, current medical officer of 1st Maintenance Bn. His continual mistreatment of his patients—a direct contradiction of his professional duties—is intolerable. From personally degrading patients, to outright denial of care for his ease, I have witnessed him repeatedly refuse his services to those in need.

His conduct creates a toxic environment, damaging not only to the individuals who need medical care, but to the overall morale of our community. We deserve a medical officer who places the health and well-being of their patients above all else, not one who uses their position to dishonor and disrespect those they swore to help.

We therefore seek immediate removal of LT Shahzad from his position as medical officer in the 1st Maintenance Bn or, at minimum, a formal investigation into his behavior. We believe in the possibility for change and improvement in our medical care. Let us stand together, raise our voices, and cease our silence.
