For the well-being of students in AI-SL, it is crucial to consider the impact of one off day on their overall performance. Many students face extraneous variables such as lack of preparation or having a bad day which can significantly affect their focus during testing. By removing the lowest summative grade before end-of-year grades are calculated, we can provide a fairer assessment of their true capabilities and efforts throughout the year. This small adjustment could greatly benefit students who might otherwise be unfairly penalized for circumstances beyond their control.
