As a loyal viewer and a responsible tax and license fee payer, I find the overwhelming Tory bias exhibited by Laura Kuenssberg on the BBC deeply troubling and an affront to the standards expected of our national broadcaster. Kuenssberg's reporting consistently veers from the expected impartiality, giving uninhibited airtime to Tory views, essentially turning a platform that should encourage informed debate into a unilateral political broadcast.

The principle of impartiality lies at the heart of public service and is a legal requirement of the BBC under the Royal Charter. As such, editorial bias not only disrespects the audience, but also undermines the core principles of the BBC. It is a disservice to all license fee payers and disregards the diversity in political opinion existing in our democratic society.

This is not an indictment on Ms. Kuenssberg's right to personal political beliefs or her capabilities as a journalist, but rather a concern over the undue influence her projections may have on public opinion. With 62% of adults in the United Kingdom citing the BBC as their most important source of news (Ofcom, 2018), the impact of such bias cannot be underestimated.

This petition seeks to uphold the BBC's commitment to impartiality, and ensure fair and balanced reporting. Therefore, we urge the relevant authorities to address this issue by removing Laura Kuenssberg from her role.
