The inclusion of Judy Fike in the Lake County Planning and Zoning Board, representing Anthony Sabatini's district, is a decision that undermines the voice and values of our community. Judy Fike has recently been voted out by the Groveland Council after a sequence of events that question her capacity to serve in a public role responsibly.

Firstly, Fike's documented history of making racist and anti-LGBTQ posts on social media is alarming. These actions demonstrate a clear bias that is incompatible with the values of inclusiveness and fairness that we strive for in our community.

Moreover, her conduct resulted in a formal suspension by the Groveland City Council. She subsequently hired Anthony Sabatini to sue the City over that suspension—an action that further underscores serious concerns about both individuals’ judgment and their suitability for any role influencing critical decisions about our community’s development.

Adding to this is the fact that she was overwhelmingly rejected by Groveland voters. This signifies a decisive vote of no confidence from the residents who know her best. The people of Groveland and surrounding areas have expressed that they do not want Judy Fike having a say or control over what happens in their region. To impose her on a board that determines significant developmental decisions is to neglect the will of the constituents.

Lastly, there are further controversies and red flags attached to her name for doxing law enforcement officers and their families, which further illustrate the potential risks associated with her occupying such an influential position. 

We must uphold the integrity of each position in our local government by appointing members who reflect the ethical standards and inclusive values of the residents they serve. Therefore, we urge the Lake County Board of County Commissioners to act in the interest of the community by removing Judy Fike from her current appointment in the Planning and Zoning Board.
