Josette Pizarro is not qualified to be the role of principal at P.S. 220. She is arrogant, cold-hearted, and overall a bully. She preaches that teachers need to build rapport with their students, however, she fails to build rapport with her teachers. The teachers at P.S. 220 work extremely hard to make sure their students needs are met. We work very hard to ensure all students receive an equitable education, from students classified as ENL, students who have an IEP, etc. Josette Pizarro has, for lack of a better term, made our lives a living hell over the past several years. When teachers report her to our schools UFT leader, nothing seems to be done. Reports have been made to the UFT Queens Office, as well as the District 28 office, however, nothing seems to be  rectified. Often times, she even pulls paras from their children, which is a disservice since they have needs to be met. She also has paraprofessionals doing administrative work in the office. She also has a tendency to stop classes in the hallway during lunch and belittle teachers if god forbid a student is talking on line. She also has a tendency to point her finger in parents faces and be very disrespectful and intimidating. We have had it with her disrespectful behavior. Her answer to our problems is “If you don’t like it, there’s the door”. Well why don’t you leave then? We don’t want you here. We want a principal that exudes patience and understanding and one that can work with us teachers to make this school a more productive place.
