Remove Janet Caperna from The Valley
The issue
As viewers of The Valley, we are asking Bravo to reconsider Janet Caperna’s continued role on the show following the way extremely serious allegations have been discussed and characterised this season.
This is not a petition defending inappropriate behaviour. Danny’s behaviour while intoxicated has, at times, been uncomfortable and unacceptable, and viewers should be able to acknowledge that without minimising it.
Our concern is the use of the term “sexual assault” in relation to the incident involving Danny and Jasmine, and the way such an extraordinarily serious allegation has subsequently become part of a reality television storyline.
Words like sexual assault carry enormous weight. They should not be used casually, exaggerated for dramatic effect, or treated as interchangeable with every instance of inappropriate or unwanted physical contact. Doing so has potentially devastating consequences for the person being accused while also trivialising the experiences of survivors of sexual violence.
Viewers watched the footage available to us and can form their own opinions about Danny’s behaviour. What many of us object to is seeing an extremely serious label applied and amplified in a reality-TV environment without the care and responsibility such a subject deserves.
This is bigger than disliking a cast member. Reality television thrives on conflict, arguments and controversial personalities - that’s part of why we watch it. But there should be a line when real-world allegations capable of permanently damaging someone’s reputation become material for a storyline.
There is also a glaring double standard in how physical behaviour is being treated. Janet throwing a drink and a cup at Danny should not simply be brushed aside because it happened during an argument. In 2026, reality television should have moved beyond treating physical aggression as acceptable entertainment.
Bravo has a responsibility to apply its standards consistently. Serious allegations should be handled seriously, physical aggression shouldn’t be normalised, and neither should be exploited simply because it creates a dramatic storyline.
We believe Janet’s handling of this situation has crossed that line, and we no longer want to see her platformed on The Valley.
We are asking Bravo and the producers of The Valley not to bring Janet Caperna back for another season and to establish a higher standard for how allegations of sexual misconduct and physical aggression are handled on its programming.
The Valley already has more than enough genuine drama, complicated relationships and entertaining storylines without resorting to storylines this dark and potentially damaging. Let’s get the show back to what made people want to watch in the first place - messy, dramatic and, importantly, fun. Bravo needs to do better.
