As a dedicated member of the Grand Prairie Youth Football Association (GPYFA) and a passionate coach within this league, I am deeply concerned about the current leadership under board president Ira Carter. It is with great disappointment that I write this petition, urging for his immediate removal from his position.

Personal Story:
I have been actively involved in GPYFA for two years now, witnessing firsthand the positive impact it has on our community's youth. However, under Mr. Carter's leadership, our once-thriving league has experienced a significant decline in both participation and overall morale.

During my time as a coach, I have observed numerous instances where Mr. Carter and the board display questionable decision-making skills and an alarming lack of transparency. Their actions have not only undermined the integrity of our league but also compromised the safety and well-being of our young athletes.

Reasons for Removal:

1. Lack of Communication: As coaches and parents invested in the success of our young athletes, we rely on effective communication from board members to ensure smooth operations within GPYFA. Unfortunately, they consistently fail to provide timely updates or respond adequately to concerns raised by stakeholders.

2.Deterioration of Facilities: During their tenure we have seen little to no progress in enhancing our fields and facilities. We have practice fields for teams that do not have bathrooms for our girls or boys to use while some board members teams personally practices at the game fields and other locations and has access to proper facilities leaving other teams to find solutions themselves. This lack of action reflects a failure on their part to prioritize the needs of our athletes and their families.

3. Loss of Trust: Perhaps most concerning is the erosion of trust between GPYFA's stakeholders and the GPYFA board. Their repeated disregard for transparency, accountability, and open dialogue has left many feeling disillusioned and disconnected from the league they once held dear.

4. Abuse of Power: Ira Carter (along with his board members) have continuously shown signs of harassment/abuse of power against coaches, team moms and teams overall. Some of the instances that have occurred are; arriving to a public place where a GPYFA team was holding an event and telling them to leave or there will be punishment. Asking coaches about personal relationships at home. Telling coaches they are liars and suspending coaches despite never having a meeting on the issue at hand. Threatening to arrest and ban coaches from attending games simply when they make statements such as GPYFA being unorganized when it came to certain events (signups, weigh-ins etc) and many more situations.
Also, Ira Carter and the board refuses to let coaches make appeals to their peers on disciplinary actions to have a fair resolution.

It is crucial for the future success of GPYFA that we remove Ira Carter from his position as board president. Our league deserves a leader who will prioritize integrity, effective communication, financial responsibility, facility improvements, and above all else—the well-being of our young athletes.
