Remove Iowa Football OC Brian Ferentz

Remove Iowa Football OC Brian Ferentz
Why this petition matters
Brian Ferentz, along with former Strength and Conditioning Coach Chris Doyle, was accused of racism and bullying at the University of Iowa in 2020. For reason that are unclear, Brian Ferentz was not fired from his position as Chris Doyle was. He was allowed to retain his position as Offensive Coordinator of the football team while Doyle received the full brunt of punishment alone. Ferentz is the defendent in an ongoing lawsuit filed by former players, but has yet to be held accountable by the University. He has not answered in any meaningful way for the accusations leveled against him. It is imperative, if the University of Iowa is to even have the pretense of being an honorable institution of higher learning, that Brian Ferentz be removed from the ranks of the football coaching staff IMMEDIATELY.
For the deserved justice owed to his former players; for the honor of the University of Iowa; for the fans that deserve a much better representative, Brian Ferentz must be fired. Failure to do so sends the message to the world that nepotism reigns supreme in the State of Iowa, and that anyone with the name Ferentz is above the law, only because of the relative success the football team has enjoyed under Brian's father, Head Coach Kirk Ferentz. Failure to act only enforces that the University of Iowa is willing to turn a blind eye to racism and inappropriate behavior to protect the Ferentz legacy.
Those are not Iowa values and this cannot stand. We demand the dismissal of Brian Ferentz immediately.
