Currently, the law in Scotland protects teenagers from being arrested or detained for acts branded as 'nuisance.' While the intention behind such legislation may be to shield young people from the harsh reality of imprisonment, in practice, it leaves the door wide open for repeated and unchecked criminal behavior. We are fostering an environment where young people have no sense of consequence or responsibility for their actions.
