Remove Heritage Foundation President for Defending Tucker Carlson’s Antisemitic Interview
The Issue
The Heritage Foundation was once known for shaping conservative thought with integrity. But under its current leadership, that integrity is unraveling.
In October, Heritage Foundation President Kevin D. Roberts defended Tucker Carlson’s decision to air a friendly interview with Nick Fuentes, a widely condemned antisemite and white nationalist. Rather than speak out against giving a platform to hate, Roberts doubled down. He posted a video attacking Carlson’s critics as part of a “globalist class” and a “venomous coalition” — phrases long associated with antisemitic conspiracy theories.
The response was swift. Three members of Heritage’s board of trustees have now resigned, including Abby Spencer Moffat, CEO of a major donor foundation. In her resignation letter, she cited the think tank’s drift from its core values and its failure to confront “harmful ideas.” Another resigning trustee said Heritage’s silence “harmed its credibility, its culture, and the conservative movement it once helped shape.”
Roberts later tried to distance himself from his own words, blaming a subordinate and claiming he doesn’t watch much news — just sports. But he has never removed the video, nor issued a full retraction or apology.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t a question of political alignment. This is a question of moral leadership. A person who defends antisemites and hides behind staff when challenged should not lead one of the most influential conservative institutions in the country.
We, the undersigned, call on the Heritage Foundation’s Board of Trustees to immediately remove Kevin D. Roberts as president.
Accountability must come before access. Principles must come before politics.
Heritage cannot claim to defend Western values while enabling hate speech and refusing to confront antisemitism in its own ranks.
Sign now to demand Kevin Roberts be removed — because conservative leadership should never mean excusing extremism.
