We are concerned citizens of Gloucester, Massachusetts. We are parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts and uncles of children going to Gloucester Public Schools. We are community members, employees and educators who have a duty to our children and students. We are respectfully requesting the School Committee and Mayor of Gloucester to remove the current superintendent of Gloucester Public Schools, Ben Lummis.
We believe that for some time now, under the direction of the current superintendent the Gloucester Public Schools administration has lost its way.

Under the direction of the current superintendent we believe the administration has;
-failed to communicate openly with the public and their own staff,
-held multiple closed door administration sessions with the board,
-misuses his power to demean and coerce educators, devaluing Gloucester staff as human beings,professionals, family and community members.

We do not believe this superintendent can lead our district ina way that best serves the emotional and educational needs of our children

These are our children. This is our educational system. We request the board of Gloucester to remove the current superintendent.
