Sheriff Gary Redman is acting against his sworn oath to protect and serve the people of Amador County. By violating Californias sanctuary law, he has chosen to alienate a large population of our county and effectively remove their protection of law in fear of deportation. This has made our area less safe.
The people should not live in fear of those who took an oath to protect and serve. Redman is the ONLY sheriff in California who is taking this stance, while proudly declaring he is aware he is violating state law. He has also publicly harassed constituents who disagree with his stance while claiming drugs like fentanyl and meth are not of valid concern. 
The purpose of this petition is to gather enough support to remove him from office due to malfeasance of office. A recall election would follow after gaining enough support. Let your voice be heard.
