Title: Monday is the meeting. Show up and help end Flock in New Hanover

This is the moment we've been building toward. Everything you need for Monday — time, place, and what to say: https://deflockilm.org/august-17/
On Monday, August 17 at 3:00 PM, we peacefully protest and then at 4:00 p.m. the five New Hanover County Commissioners who fund the Flock surveillance contract meet at the Historic Courthouse. Their own contract lets them cancel it at any time, without cause. What they need is a room full of residents asking them to. Five speakers is a comment period. Twenty-five is a moment they can't ignore.
If you do one thing this week, be there.
Can't make it? Take two minutes and email all five commissioners on one thread: tell them to end the contract. One-click drafts here: https://deflockilm.org/email-your-leaders/
And please share this petition with a neighbor. Every name shows the Board how many of us want this: https://change.org/DeFlockILM
One more thing: yesterday, Flock's CEO announced new "guardrails" — mandatory audits and shorter data retention starting in January. Expect to hear it cited on Monday as a reason to wait. It isn't one. Here's why better rules don't fix a warrantless dragnet: https://deflockilm.org/flock-misuse-regulation-transparency-gap/
We have 2,951 signatures, the records, and the law on our side. Now is the time to end this. See you Monday.
