Our community is deeply worried about a 14-year-old girl named Eva who is currently active on Discord. She has been involved in interactions with older men on the platform, posing a significant risk to her safety and well-being. Discord, while being a vital tool for engaging in digital communities, unfortunately can become a path for potential exploitation and harm for young users who may not know the risks involved. Around 27% of the user base on Discord are below 18 years of age; this is not a minor issue (Buchanan, Emily. "Who uses Discord?"). We understand that Discord has regulations in place to protect minors, but they clearly are not enough in Eva's case.

Without decisive action, we risk enabling a platform that may be exploited for inappropriate activities involving minors. On top of that, the psychological distress and potential dangers for a young girl interacting with older, possibly manipulative, adults cannot be underestimated. This petition is not to demonize Discord or those who use it. Instead, it's a call to protect one of our own, a 14-year-old girl named Eva, who, like many kids her age, may not understand the implications of her interactions on the platform.

It’s time we prioritize the safety and well-being of our youngest community members. We implore Discord to actively intervene and disable Eva's access to the platform until she can use it safely. Please, safeguard her present and future by signing this petition.
