The Issue
My friend is currently facing an unimaginable situation. The school kicked him out and won’t let him attend because of vaccine issues. He also has family health issues which causes him to miss school. Despite these overwhelming challenges, he is being punished by the school administration for circumstances beyond his control. When the school enforced a temporary exclusion due to his vaccination status, he was later penalized for the very absence they had required of him. If you thought that was bad, what about him being a grown man who has gone into the female restroom to yell at some high school students. No grown adult man should be entering the female bathroom while students are in there, regardless of what the reasoning behind it is. If he wanted to punish them he could have stood outside the bathroom waiting for them.
This unjust treatment is not an isolated incident but a reflection of the harsh and unreasonable policies implemented by Eric Bryant, Dean of Students and Activity director for the school. Mr. Bryant's leadership has consistently shown a disconnect with the needs and realities of both students and staff. His approach to rule-making is contradictory, often putting students in a position where abiding by one rule inevitably means violating another, leading to even harsher penalties.
Numerous accounts from within the school's own staff indicate that Mr. Bryant's management style is too severe, causing distress and discomfort among those who work under him. Such an environment is detrimental not only to educational outcomes but to the well-being of everyone involved in the school community.
It is paramount that leadership in educational institutions understands and adapts to the dynamic challenges faced by students and their families. The current administration, under Mr. Bryant, has demonstrated a lack of empathy and understanding, failing to accommodate legitimate concerns and situations that prevent students from complying with every requirement.
We urge the school authorities to take this matter seriously. Removing Mr. Bryant from his position would pave the way for a more compassionate and reasonable administration that prioritizes the true needs of its students and staff. We need leaders who can align school policies with the diverse and often difficult realities students face, ensuring every student receives a fair chance at education without being unnecessarily penalized.
Please join us in advocating for this much-needed change. Sign this petition to call for the removal of Eric Bryant and the appointment of a school leader who genuinely cares for and supports the school community.
