Like many of you, I am deeply passionate about the welfare of animals. Like many of you, I trusted Doug Smith, the current manager at Yucca Valley Animal Shelter, to share this compassion. Unfortunately, recent events have painfully shown that he does not, resulting in neglect towards the animals and staff under his jurisdiction.

Evidence of significant neglect is rampant, contradicting the principles he initially championed. Staff dissatisfaction is high, and there are increasing reports of subpar care for the animals he's sworn to protect. As a community, we cannot stand by while this pervasive neglect continues to damage lives and tarnish the reputation of a shelter that should be a haven for animals.

We are disheartened by Smith's blatant disregard for company policies, and his actions are in direct contradiction with the mission of the shelter he was entrusted to manage. We urgently request the exterior authorities to intervene and exile Doug Smith from his management position at Yucca Valley Animal Shelter.
