According to news sources, on June 15, an Elyria, Ohio, resident reportedly strangled one of his dogs, Charlie, before dumping the animal in a trash can. Apparently, Charlie managed to knock over the trash can and crawl into a nearby flower bed, where he was discovered by neighbors. Reports indicate that Charlie had a hole in his head, blood running down his back, and an extension cord wrapped around his neck, and he was suffering from what appeared to be shots from a BB gun. The resident reportedly confessed to a neighbor that he tried to strangle Charlie because he had no money for vet care.

Charlie was rescued by the Friendship APL and is expected to recover, and the matter is under investigation by authorities. However, two dogs remain at the residence. Please contact Lorain County officials and ask them to seek protective custody of the remaining dogs immediately!
