Petition to Roblox Corporation: Reconsider Current Leadership Direction

Following years of devoted engagement with the Roblox platform, I am deeply concerned about the future of the community and its ecosystem under the current leadership of CEO David Baszucki.

Roblox was once defined by creativity, accessibility, and a strong connection between players, developers, and the platform itself. In recent years, however, many long-time users and independent developers feel increasingly disconnected as major policy and design decisions appear to prioritize monetization and corporate interests over community trust and creative freedom.

Numerous updates and policy changes have alienated core users and raised concerns among developers who form the backbone of the Roblox ecosystem. Features that have existed for many years are being altered or removed, such as the transition away from classic avatars and the potential removal of legacy systems like R6 animation, changes that could force countless games to be reworked or fundamentally altered.

Additionally, new requirements such as mandatory age verification for basic communication have raised privacy concerns among users, particularly younger players and their families, who are uncomfortable with providing government-issued identification simply to access social features.

Many community members have also expressed frustration with Roblox’s handling of safety, moderation, and transparency. While Roblox publicly emphasizes user protection, critics argue that enforcement has been inconsistent and that whistleblowers and community advocates have at times felt discouraged rather than supported.

Roblox’s original mission to “bring the world together through play” depends on trust, inclusivity, and a platform that genuinely listens to its community. At present, many feel that this mission is being overshadowed by decisions that erode those values.

This petition urges Roblox’s board and stakeholders to seriously evaluate the company’s leadership and consider whether a change in direction — including new executive leadership — is necessary to restore confidence, creativity, and community-first decision-making.

By acting now, Roblox has an opportunity to realign with its core values and ensure the platform remains a place where creativity thrives and players and developers feel heard and respected.

I aim for this petition to reach 1,000 signatures by the end of 2026 to demonstrate the scale of concern within the Roblox community and encourage meaningful dialogue and change.
