Remove Dangerous Armour Stones from Point Beach Access

Remove Dangerous Armour Stones from Point Beach Access
The Issue
To: City of Ottawa/Ottawa City Council
New, dangerous, armour stones have been put horizontally across the Point Beach river access in Constance Bay by the City of Ottawa. This access is historically wide -open to users including snowmobilers in the winter. Riders will not know these rocks are there this winter. For decades, the access has been clear of such obstacles. Riders will potentially hit these rocks which will cause injury or possibly be fatal.
There is no sensible reason for these armour stones to be there cutting the access in two. There are already vertically-placed City flags showing the boundaries of the access.
The City's solution to the danger of these rocks, is to have the local snowmobile club put markers to show a path through two of the rocks. Also, put markers on the rocks, somehow. This will not work. Riders will not see the markers covered in snow or turn onto access before seeing this pathway. Riders come up fast to the access from the river and will not know there's rocks blocking the whole access width. This is not the trail , nor is it the responsibility of the local snowmobile club. It is a City-owned water access.
This access is very busy with riders during a good winter. It's gives access to the trail nearby , the road and a popular restaurant. People come from Quebec and Ontario. It is obviously impossible to notify every rider of this new rock wall.
Riders will not see markers or signs in the dark and in snowy conditions off the river. Not all riders follow markers , unfortunately, especially when they are used to an access being safely wide and open.
City of Ottawa, please remove all these armour stones before the winter. It will potentially save a rider(s) from injury or possible death.
