Remove Daily Mail Emma James “Spoonies” Article

The Issue

As a disabled woman with an invisiable disability I felt the need to start this petition to remove the article written for the (Daily Mail By Emma James For Dailymail.Com22:58 07 Sep 2022, updated 14:36 08 Sep 2022) titled “Addicted to being sad: Teenage girls with invisible illnesses - known as 'Spoonies' - post TikToks of themselves crying or in hospital to generate thousands of likes - as experts raise concerns over internet-induced wave of mass anxiety”

I feel like this article has discriminated against all people with disabilities - especially those with hidden disability’s and illnesses although the article was specifically targeting teenage girls and young woman.

Living life with a hidden disability or chronic illness  is a daily battle and one that we should be advocating for to help remove the stigma surrounding hidden disabilities and chronic health conditions - not to create a greater stigma by insinuating that people who decide to share their experiences are telling falsity’s or trying to find financial gain.

Every signature is very much appreciated we need to raise awareness for the rights of all disabled and chronically ill people to be respected so that we can urge society to move forward and be treated with greater equality.

Thank you.
