Remove Cry or Better Yet Beg from the Webtoon Platform

The Issue

The source material for Cry or Better Yet Beg does not suit Webtoon's guidelines, and also romanticizes abuse for readers. Unless Webtoon agrees to never adapt the scene where Leyla admits to loving Matthias all along, takes out any of sexual assault, and changes the ending completely to not being a story of love, it cannot continue to be on the platform catered to young audiences.

Changing the maturity rating AFTER backlash still means it has a young audience who will probably keep reading despite the fake limitations because of the beautiful art style, or fawning over an abuser. Exposing children to even a watered down version of the original story is not okay, and should not have a larger platform to begin with.

It's important to remove any chances of growing a larger young audience after it already had the chance to for months before it ever got the "mature" rating. Better yet, a system to try and hinder a younger audience from reading mature works by creating a separate platform entirely would be best. But starting small by just simply trying to remove one of the worst offensive works where the source material DOES glorify abuse is best to be left on it's original platform, in it's original state without being skewed, and left on a mature only platform.

Please do not send hate to Van J or Solche, but instead direct complaints to Webtoon through this petition. Thank you.

Also note that for a more in depth analysis on the terrible implications of the adaptation, I recommend Matty Bites video on the situation.
