Remove Commissioner James T Atkins from the Family Courts

Remove Commissioner James T Atkins from the Family Courts
The Issue
I have witnessed firsthand the deep injustice within this court system and the so-called leaders who have been put in place to protect families. Commissioner James T. Atkins has proven himself to be unfit for the role he holds and has failed countless children and families as a result.
Although he was appointed by judges and given the authority to make critical decisions on sensitive legal matters, it’s clear he is misusing that power. Instead of listening carefully to the cases before him, Commissioner Atkins frequently makes decisions without truly understanding the evidence—or even asking for it.
I’ve personally observed multiple cases where he has demonstrated blatant bias, disregarded solid evidence, and inserted false or unproven information into official court documents. He relies heavily on hearsay, without making any effort to verify the facts or request supporting documentation. His lack of concern for the lives affected by these cases is alarming. He routinely skims over documents without reading them in full, and it’s painfully obvious that he gives minimal attention to the families who need it most.
Unlike other judges who take their responsibilities seriously and show genuine concern, Commissioner Atkins shows no empathy. Instead, he exerts his authority in a combative and dismissive manner—especially toward parents who come to court with legal representation. His favoritism and biased rulings are glaringly evident.
For example, in one case, Minor’s Counsel interviewed the children and recommended they be placed in the care of their father due to concerns of Mother. However, Commissioner Atkins twisted the narrative, ignoring the children’s cries for help, and issued a court order that painted the father as the problem—when, in truth, the concern was with the mother. This is just one of many examples that highlight his negligence and failure to act in the best interest of the child.
It seems he’s more interested in prolonging cases—driving up legal fees and benefiting financially from a system that keeps families in turmoil. This is not justice. It’s exploitation.
Commissioner Atkins has consistently failed children by failing the parents trying to protect them. His actions are unjust, biased, and deeply harmful. He must be removed from his position before more families are hurt.
