Remove Coach Tyler Scott from RP JV Football

Remove Coach Tyler Scott from RP JV Football
The Issue
As concerned members of the Muskegon community and supporters of our local Reeth's Puffer school athletic program, we are calling for the removal of the current Junior Varsity Football Coach, Tyler Scott .
Since Middle School and now in JV under his leadership, our young athletes are not developing to their full potential. Sadly, they are experiencing a negative environment that adversely impacts their growth in the sport and turns them away from a program that could benefit greatly from their talents.
Coach Tyler Scott is not equipping the team with the necessary skills and strategies essential for success. With a disappointing 4-17 record over three years, it's clear that the program has struggled to find direction and success. This is not merely about wins and losses; it is about ensuring that our students learn the essential principles of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance that sports should instill.
Furthermore, reports from parents and players indicate a troubling pattern: some players feel degraded rather than motivated, effort goes unrewarded, and there appears to be favoritism rather than fair play. Often times the team has been down by more than 30 points and the starters are still in the game. Such practices compromise the integrity and spirit of school sports and further inhibit development of these young men and women, especially at the influential age they are. Tyler Scott also holds grudges against parents when they confront him with issues other than playing time. This later affects their sons or daughters playing time.
This situation has led to talented young men and women leaving the program, which undermines not only their potential futures but also the overall effectiveness of Reeth’s Puffer School’s Athletic culture.
We need leadership that inspires and makes every player feel valued for their contributions. RP deserves a coach who can lift the team’s morale and help our young athletes bloom into confident individuals who excel both on and off the field.
We urge the RP school administration to take action and never allow Tyler Scott to coach Football or any other sport at RP.
Look for a qualified and compassionate individual who can guide our Junior Varsity team to success, both in personal development and competitive achievements.
Please sign this petition if you agree that it's time for a change in leadership for the betterment of our community and our young athletes.
Together, let's give our students the positive environment they need to thrive and reach their full potential.
