I'm petitioning that Betsy Henderson (Chair & 6th District) be removed from the Knox County Schools Board Of Education.

On January 28th, Henderson went before the TN State Committee to show support of the School Choice Voucher despite the board voting "no" to not support the vouchers. She claims that she was there in a "personal capacity". However, at the start of her statement to the Senate Committee, she acknowledged that she is the Chair & 6th District representative for the KCS BOE. Part of her responsibility is to advocate for every child in Knox County Public Schools. She went to the meeting and gave her own personal opinion, despite knowing that her other board members and the majority of the residents in the community didn't agree.

Overall, Henderson doesn't represent the community that we are striving to improve here in Knox County. She needs to either resign or be removed from the board and replaced with someone who will value the input of the community that they are serving. Thank you!
