Remove Barricades Blocking Golf Cart Paths in North River Ranch Community

Remove Barricades Blocking Golf Cart Paths in North River Ranch Community
The Issue
North River Ranch is a vibrant community, designed and established to be golf cart friendly. Despite this, there are blockades present that prevent the easy movement of golf carts along the designated pathways. These barricades disrupt the natural flow of transit in our community and restrict our right to navigate freely in the area designed for us.
These pathways are not just transit ways, they connect two different parts of the North River Ranch, holding a significant role in enabling communication and interaction among the neighbors. By closing off these pathways, we not only hinder transportation but also the vital sense of community that keeps North River Ranch vibrant and united.
We have a golf cart and typically use the paths to get to Brightwood Pool. Camp Creek is Wildleaves' pool, but since Camp Creek is still under construction, the best way to access the pool is via the paths. The alternative is taking the road, but it's not a private road, and the police monitor it. Since it's illegal to drive a golf cart on public roads, how are we supposed to get to the pool now? We could take our car, but that defeats the purpose of having a golf cart in the first place.
Data from the National Golf Car Manufacturers Association show that in communities designed for golf cart use, such as ours, the usage can reduce carbon emissions by as much as 30%. They also significantly reduce the wear and tear on roads and decrease traffic congestion. This makes golf carts an eco-friendly and community-centered mode of transport that should be encouraged.
Another issue with the gates is that they’re difficult to navigate. Baby carriages, strollers, and other items barely fit without needing to be lifted and squeezed through—some don’t fit at all. Additionally, the way the gates are designed makes walking and running through them uncomfortable.
We call upon the HOA and local authorities to consider our plea. It’s our humble request to remove the barriers installed on the golf cart paths. By doing so, you'll be promoting a more engaged, environmentally friendly, and unified North River Ranch community. Please support us in our mission to maintain the unique charm of our neighborhood by signing this petition.
