However, our trust is undermined when an officer does not uphold these fundamental principles. Austin Kowski, an officer in the Sauk Centre police department, has been causing distress among residents and detrimentally impacting our downtown businesses.

As a community member, I have witnessed Kowski's behavior towards many residents, and it's clear that his actions are more than just occasional misconduct. He has repeatedly demonstrated a pattern of targeting and harassing local residents. These actions create an atmosphere of fear and mistrust, which is counterproductive to community cohesion and well-being.

Additionally, our downtown businesses have suffered from Kowski's intrusive practices. Local entrepreneurs, who have invested their time and resources to contribute positively to Sauk Centre's economy, now find themselves in a challenging position, as his actions drive away customers and disrupt their daily operations. Business owners have reported declines in customer visits and a negative shift in the atmosphere, ultimately affecting their livelihoods.
