This year Haverford has placed a combined 50 swipe limit at the Haverford College Coop and Library Cafe for students on the full meal plan. The limit, which has never existed prior to this year, was never formally announced to students. The full meal plan still costs ~$3,400 per semester which is the same price as previous semesters where swipes could be used at any dining facility without limitation. Additionally, The Library Cafe is the only place on campus where food is available past 8:00pm. We believe it is unethical for this restriction to remain as students were never notified about the change, the meal plan price did not decrease compared to previous years, and it restricts student access to food. Due to these circumstances we are requesting that the college remove the swipe restriction at these locations.
