We the undersigned consider that the current Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, consistently adopts stances and uses language that promotes division, discord and disunity amongst the people of the United Kingdom. Examples include her warning of a “hurricane of immigrants”, her referral to demonstrations in support of a ceasefire in Gaza as “Hate marches” and her description of homelessness and rough sleeping as being a “lifestyle choice”. Such language is unbecoming to the office that she holds and damages not only the standing of the position of Home Secretary but also that of the United Kingdom as a whole. As such we call for her removal as Home Secretary.
