Removal of Pay-to-Win Microtransactions in Gran Turismo 7 (GT7)

Removal of Pay-to-Win Microtransactions in Gran Turismo 7 (GT7)
The Issue
We, the undersigned, object to the presence of "Pay-to-win" microtransactions in the already fully paid game Gran Turismo 7 (GT7).
*Later in this text is a brief description of what we call “Pay to Win” microtransactions.
We call on developers and publishers, respectively Polyphony Digital and Sony Interactive Entertainment, to either :
- Completely remove microtransactions from the game.
- Limit microtransactions to cosmetics purchases.
Basic description of Pay-to-Win:
In the simplest terms, "pay to win" describes a game where paying real money gives players a significant advantage over those who don't spend any money.
In Gran Turismo 7, real money can earn you:
- to buy expensive and better cars
- to buy tweaks and upgrades
Thus, for two players who have purchased the same game at the same price, for the same content, with the same playing time available:
- The player willing to pay microtransactions will have significant advantages, that is : more cars, better cars and/or more and better upgrades.
- The player who does not want to pay for microtransactions will have significant disadvantages.
Additionally, shortly after the game's release, Polyphony released an update that reduced most of the rewards, making it more incentivized to pay for the microtransactions.
Following is a short additional information about GT'7 microtransactions:
PStore current prices:
$2.49 - 100,000 Credits
$4.99 - 250,000 Credits
$9.99 - 750,000 Credits
$19.99 - 2,000,000 Credits
GT7 offer many cars which cost more than 3,000,000 credits (30 to 40$ for one car)
Some screenshot even showed cars at up to 30,000.000 credits. (300 to 400$ for one car)
Approximate credit earning potential ranking :
* Most importantly - a same car in GT 7 can cost up to 8x times more than in previous GT! *

Gran Turismo Sport – 2.04m credits/hr
Gran Turismo 7 (v1.06) – 1.75m credits/hr
