PETITION FOR ACCOUNTABILITY
Request for the Removal of Oklahoma Department of Corrections Director Justin Farris

Purpose

We, the undersigned citizens, respectfully petition the Governor of Oklahoma and other appropriate state officials to evaluate the leadership of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and to remove Director Justin Farris from office. This petition reflects concerns about leadership, transparency, and public confidence. It is not a determination of legal liability.

Why We Are Signing

• Growing public concern following multiple reported deaths in custody.
• Concerns regarding the safety and wellbeing of incarcerated individuals and correctional employees.
• Requests for greater transparency following critical incidents.
• Support for independent oversight and public accountability.
• Belief that Oklahoma deserves correctional leadership that restores public trust.
We Respectfully Request

1. An independent review of recent deaths in custody and other significant incidents.
2. A comprehensive review of inmate and staff safety practices.
3. Greater public transparency regarding critical incidents.
4. Consideration of new leadership for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
