My daughters have been passionately participating in USA softball since 2019. They love the sport and it holds a special place in our lives. However, the place where these all star games are usually held for rec leagues, Lancaster, is no longer safe for these young, vibrant athletes. Recent years have shown a distressing increase in gang violence, shocking lack of available law enforcement, and worsening weather conditions in the area (Source: Local Crime Statistics, Weather Reports). The safety and well-being of our young players should always be a top priority.

We kindly urge the softball authorities to consider moving the location for all future 'all-stars' matches for California from Lancaster to safer venues. Suitable alternative locations might include Great Park in Irvine, Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley or a combination of Aliso Viejo, Capo, Rancho Trabuco, and San Clemente fields. These proposed locations offer safety, good weather, and favorable conditions for our players to enjoy the sport they love so passionately.

Let's come together as responsible parents, guardians, officials, and community members, to put an end to this lack of security and detrimental impact on our athletes.
