After four years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice, the Class of 2026 deserves a commencement ceremony that reflects the significance of this milestone. Graduation is not just an event, it is a celebration of our perseverance, our achievements, and the support of the families and friends who helped us along the way.
Currently, the ceremony is scheduled to be held in McGuilley Field house. While functional, this location does not capture the beauty, history, or prestige of the University of Saint Mary. The fieldhouse feels more like a gymnasium than a setting for such a momentous occasion, and it fails to provide the dignified atmosphere that commencement should represent.

Our campus offers numerous beautiful and historic spaces that would serve as a more fitting backdrop/spaces that showcase the spirit of Saint Mary and leave graduates and their families with memories that honor the importance of this day. Choosing such a location would not only enhance the experience for students and their loved ones, but also reflect positively on the university itself, inspiring pride in alumni and attracting future students.

We, the undersigned, believe the Class of 2026 deserves a graduation venue worthy of our accomplishments and of the institution we call home. We respectfully petition the University of Saint Mary to relocate our commencement ceremony to a location that better reflects the tradition, values, and beauty of our university.
