Relocate trellis in front of unit 98 The Falls .
The Issue
A Small Relocation Request - Help us keep the beautiful open space in front of Unit 98!
Ben and Erin recently moved into unit 98 at 24951 112th Avenue in Maple Ridge, seeking a peaceful and safe environment for their young family. It was their dream to settle into a community where their two little kids could grow up with a love for nature!
They fell in love with the community and chose their home for the view, because it reminded them of when they first met.
When they first moved in there was a tree just outside their fence, for months, before they purchased. Thinking of how perfectly their units porch was in between the clubhouse and the homestore, they purchased for the view.
Epic Homes has suddenly removed that tree and now is procceding to build a large 8 foot 2 inch, undisclosed to the buyers, wooden trellis for the landscaped area directly in front of Unit 98. That would saddle the top of the stairs down the side into the rock bed, an already busy area!
They are not asking for the trellis to be cancelled, simply relocated to another suitable common-area location where it can still be enjoyed by all without unnecessarily obstructing the outlook and space immediately in front of anyones home. Right now the trellis hasn't been built. But once it is, Epic has said it will be on Strata to remove it. Instead they have offered a better location so everyone can still enjoy it and the design integrity stays intact and our strata dollars go towards more important things.
Epic can just not build it! But instead has advised them that decisions regarding common areas affect the community as a whole.
So here is your chance, we would like the community to have a voice.
I support relocating the proposed trellis near Unit 98 to another appropriate location within the development.
Thank you, neighbours. 💛
They are hoping for a simple, collaborative solution that preserves the design of our community while finding a better home for this particular feature.
