Release The Muppets Valentine Show and The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence on Disney+!

The Issue

On February 19, 2021, The Muppet Show finally got its first streaming release on Disney+! A lot of Muppet fans were so excited, and to this very day, people love to stream the classic variety show from the 70's on Disney+, and ever since the show began in 1976, ended in 1981, and still today, some people including myself consider The Muppet Show the greatest TV show of all time and are satisfied with watching it on Disney+. However, there were two specials that Jim Henson created before The Muppet Show as pilots to the classic variety series! The first pilot released in 1974 and was called The Muppets Valentine Show, and the second one released in 1975 and was called The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. The Muppets Valentine Show and The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence are some of the most important Muppet specials, since they were successful and got the The Muppet Show to finally air!

It's disappointing that The Muppet Show is on Disney+, but the two pilots that both did very well at showing the public at how the classic variety series was gonna be are not! Let's tell Disney that we Muppet fans who love The Muppet Show want The Muppets Valentine Show and The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence on Disney+, as neither special has ever been able to stream before. The Muppets collection on Disney+ feels incomplete, with how both pilots are available to public but are not on Disney's famous streaming service, but if they were so many Muppet fans would appreciate it!

The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence first aired on ABC on March 19, 1975, and is available to the public through the Season 1 DVD of The Muppet Show. The Muppets Valentine Show first aired on ABC on January 30, 1974, and is available to the public through the Season 2 DVD of The Muppet Show. If the specials were released on DVD, both should be available on Disney+. Now is the time to take action and get The Muppets Valentine Show and The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence on Disney+! Good luck fellow Muppet fans!

One of the languages neither The Muppets Valentine Show nor The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence have ever had is English (Audio Description), so if Disney+ ever decides to make these specials available to stream, they should allow blind people to watch the pilots for the first time. The Muppet Movie, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and Muppet Treasure Island all got English (Audio Description) for the first time when those movies came to Disney+, so they should do the same if they decided to release The Muppets Valentine Show and The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence on Disney+.

Here is the plot of The Muppets Valentine Show:

In this half-hour Valentine's Day special featuring the Muppets and special guest star Mia Farrow, host Wally has writer's block -- he can't think of material for the show that represents the true meaning of love. He asks the other Muppets and Mia for assistance, with mixed results.

Sketches
The Muppets perform the opening number, "Love Is a Simple Thing."
Wally, George the Janitor, Mildred and Brewster discuss love.

Kermit the Frog tells the story of his doomed love affair with Miss Mousey, singing "Froggy Went A Courtin'."
Mia Farrow enters, and meets the Muppets.
Mia and Thog perform a duet, "Real Live Girl."
Mia sings "Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms" to Rufus.
Kermit reports live from the planet Koozebane, where aliens are about to perform the Galley-o-hoop-hoop.
Mia discovers that George loves his mop.
Mia and the Muppets sing "We Got Love."

Here is the plot of The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence:

In this half-hour variety special, the Muppets parody the proliferation of sex and violence on television.

Nigel, Sam the Eagle, and hippie guitarist Floyd prepare for a Pageant based on the Seven Deadly Sins, with Muppets representing the Sins -- Envy, Anger, Gluttony, Vanity, Lust, Avarice and Sloth.

Sketches (in order of appearance)
The Conference Room: Nigel, Sam, and Floyd play different games before being interrupted by different deadly sins.
Mount Rushmore: The stone presidents trade jokes.
At the Dance
The Wrestling Match: The San Francisco Earthquake displays his winning tactics.
The Swedish Chef demonstrates how to make a submarine sandwich
The Electric Mayhem sing "Love Ya to Death."
Statler and Waldorf sit in their den and talk.
Birds in the Trees: Male birds try to attract females in a jazzy skit.
Theater of Things: The pencils get a new ruler.
Aggression: Featuring two stalks, fuzzy hook-nosed creatures, interacting with two heaps, tarantula like monsters talking in gibberish.
Films in Focus: A review pans the film Return to Beneath the Planet of the Pigs.
The 7 Deadly Sins Pageant, which ends up being cut short by the credits
As the credits roll, the camera pulls back to reveal the puppeteers running around.
Sloth shows up and asks if he is late.
