The Issue

In 2022, the French novelist Michel Houellebecq took part in a film directed the Dutch artistic group KIRAC (Keeping It Real Art Critics). The film is reported to show Houellebecq having sex with a string of young women and members of KIRAC.

Although Houellebecq consented to take part in the project, he changed his mind. In 2023, he won an injunction in court, effectively blocking the release of the work. In May, he published "A Few Months of My Life", an autobiographical work that portrays his collaboration with KIRAC as an error. He describes KIRAC's Stefan Ruitenbeek as a 'cockroach', as though he'd lost all his sense of irony.

This is all a mistake. The world today is starved of true art. To deny us access to Episode 27 is an abomination. To suppress the release is a betrayal of everything Michel Houellebecq's work has stood for. Nobody truly wants to see Houellebecq's penis. But it simply must be done in the name of art.

Stefan Ruitenbeek, release the film and release Michel Houellebecq from his nightmare!
