Cairns Regional Council produced around 10,000 "I love Cairns" bumper stickers for the city's 150th anniversary. Ratepayers paid for them. They have never been handed out.

The stickers were pulled from distribution earlier this year during a dispute at Council. An independent investigation has since concluded and found no misconduct. The stickers are still in a box.

This petition is not about who was right in that argument. It is about waste.

Ten thousand stickers exist. They are printed, paid for and sitting in storage. Throwing them out or leaving them there is money burned. Handing them out costs nothing extra.

We are asking Cairns Regional Council to distribute the stickers to the community through libraries, customer service centres, community events and local schools.
