We are writing as console players who have waited patiently, optimistically, and at this point painfully, for Sons of the Forest to be released on console.

The game launched in early access in 2023, reached full PC release in 2024, and it is now 2026. Two full years have passed since that full release, despite repeated statements and strong implications that a console version would follow once the PC version was complete. Many of us held on because we were given hope that waiting would be worth it. Instead, that hope has faded into frustration.

What makes this worse is the growing rumor that Endnight Games may already be moving on to a third installment while Sons of the Forest has still not reached consoles. Whether or not those rumors are true, the lack of clarification fuels the feeling that console players have been left behind after helping build the success of The Forest in the first place.

PC players are now years ahead. Storylines, endings, secrets, mechanics, and major plot moments are openly discussed and shared across social media, streams, and videos. For console players, the experience is being spoiled before we even get the chance to play it ourselves. A game built around mystery, survival, and discovery loses much of its impact when the surprises are already public knowledge.

Not everyone owns or can afford a gaming PC. Console gaming is not a lesser platform. It is how millions of loyal players experience games. Many of us supported The Forest on PlayStation and Xbox, trusted Endnight Games, and expected that loyalty to be acknowledged. Instead, we have been met with silence.

We are not asking for shortcuts or a rushed port. We are asking for honesty, transparency, and follow-through. If a console release is coming, say so clearly. If there are challenges or delays, communicate them. If plans have changed, we deserve to know.

Call to Action

We call on Endnight Games to publicly address the console release of Sons of the Forest without further delay. Provide a clear and honest update. Confirm whether a console version is actively being developed and give the community a realistic roadmap.

We urge fellow players to sign this petition, share it across social media, and speak up respectfully but firmly. Console players are not asking for special treatment, only equal consideration and clear communication.
