Release Information on New Suspects in Firefighter Tragedy

The Issue

The federal government has identified two new suspects in the 1988 explosion that killed six Kansas City firefighters. So why has the DOJ refused to name the new suspects and take action?

In 2011, during an investigation requested by the US Attorney’s Office, investigators reported newly discovered evidence which implicated two new suspects in the explosion. The names of the newly identified suspects have never been made public, and no action has been taken to prosecute them. The loss of the six firefighters was a tragedy that changed the lives of their families. If the government has identified additional suspects in the case, then both the firefighters’ families and the public at large have an interest in re-opening this case.

We are asking Jeff Sessions, Attorney General of the United States, to release a non-redacted copy of the July 8, 2011, U.S. DOJ Criminal Division Investigation of the Kansas City Firefighters Case.

Please join us in asking that this evidence be released to the public. Kansas City deserves to know the truth!
